HIAP Consultation http://bit.ly/Qdkro3

From 8 October 2012 to 19 October 2012

The focus of the 8th Global Conference on Health Promotion http://bit.ly/K5p273  is on how to promote health and well-being by implementing the Health in All Policies approach. In lead-up to the Conference, a Conference working definition on the Health in All Policies approach is being proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

In support of this process, WHO is holding a web-based consultation from 8-19 October 2012, to gather opinion on the proposed Conference working definition of the Health in All Policies approach. The consultation is being run by the Health Promotion and Social Determinants of Health Units of WHO.

The proposed working definition has been posted at: http://bit.ly/OtWcC5  along with a set of explanatory contextualizing paragraphs.

Interested parties are invited to send their comments directly to: actionsdh@who.int

This consultation aims to share with a broader audience of public health practitioners the draft definition being proposed by the World Health Organization thus far, as well as to receive comments from a wider group of stakeholders on this proposal

A preliminary summary of comments received via this web-based process will be presented to the Scientific Committee for the Conference,
who will meet at WHO in Geneva on 18-19 October 2012.

A report from this web-based consultation will be made free online, full text by December 12 2012.
