CALL FOR NOMINATIONS TO THE THREE CATEGORIES OF THE 2009 CARSO AWARDS IN HEALTH, NUTRITION AND ENVIRONMENT

The CARSO AWARDS, an initiative of the Carso Health Institute, aim at promoting the development of human capital in Latin America and the Caribbean and strengthening the formation of leaders that can push forward the research and innovation agenda in the region within the health and nutrition fields.

 

 

1.       PREMIO CARSO for Life Achievement in Research

This award honors those individuals who, after devoting their professional lives to research in the fields of health, nutrition or the environment, have irrefutably contributed to the development of the health sciences and have promoted leadership of the Latin America  region in these areas. 

 

2. PREMIO CARSO for Technological Innovation

This award is aimed at acknowledging front-line people or institutions whose promotion of innovative applications in communications technology has contributed to bringing health and its benefits closer to the population of Latin America.

 

3.   PREMIO CARSO for Outstanding Institution

This award pays tribute to those programs of non-for profit organizations whose contribution within the Latin American Region, whether academic or in the field, represents new and better health, nutrition and environmental alternatives for the population in the region.

2008  Carso Award for Outstanding achievement in health research   -  Dr. Cesar Victora,  Brazil

2008 Carso Award for innovations in health systems   -  Dr. Guillermo Soberón,    Mexico

2008 Carso Award to outstanding institutions or programs   -   Socios en Salud ,   Sucursal Peru

 

El INSTITUTO CARSO DE LA SALUD CONVOCA A LA COMUNIDAD MUNDIAL A PRESENTAR NOMINACIONES PARA LAS TRES CATEGORÍAS DEL PREMIO CARSO EN SALUD Y NUTRICIÓN 2009

1.       Premio Carso a la Trayectoria en Investigación
Este premio honra a aquellas personas que habiendo dedicado su carrera profesional a la investigación en el campo de la salud, nutrición o medio ambiente han contribuido fehacientemente al desarrollo de las ciencias de la salud y promovido el liderazgo de la región latinoamericana en estas materias.

2.       Premio Carso a la Innovación Tecnológica
Este premio busca reconocer a las personas o instituciones de vanguardia que al promover aplicaciones innovadoras en materia de tecnología de comunicación hayan contribuido a acercar la salud y sus beneficios a la población de América Latina.

3.       Premio Carso a la Institución excepcional

Este premio honra los programas de aquellas instituciones de carácter no lucrativo cuya contribución, ya sea académica o de trabajo en campo dentro de la región latinoamericana, represente nuevas y mejores alternativas en materia de salud, nutrición y medio ambiente para la población de la región.

 

Monto por categoría:  $100,000 dólares americanos

OBJETIVO Y DESCIPCIÓN DE LOS PREMIOS

Los Premios Carso tienen como objetivo impulsar el desarrollo del capital humano en América Latina, estimulando la formación de líderes en el campo de la salud cuyas investigaciones e innovaciones promuevan el bienestar de la población de la región.

                       

En su primera edición,  los ganadores de los Premios Carso 2008  fueron

 

 Premio Carso 2008 a la trayectoria personal en investigación en salud   - Dr. César Victora,  Brasil

 

Premio Carso 2008 a la innovación en la mejora de los sistemas de salud   - Dr. Guillermo Soberón,   México

 

Premio Carso  2008 a  la Institución excepcional -    Socios en Salud, Sucursal Perú
