Opportunity for Young Professionals to work in Public eHealth in Latin America and the Caribbean

Inequities in health are prevalent in and across many parts of Latin America and The Caribbean – this can be found between different social groups and are influenced by race, gender, ethnicity, among other things. eSAC Project aims at improving the health of disadvantaged groups and contributing to the advancement of equity in health in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), by nurturing and promoting Public eHealth innovation.

 

The Regional project is jointly designed and implemented by the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) (www.paho.org), Washington DC, and the People, Health Equity and Innovation (PHI) Research Group (www.phi-group.org) at the University of Toronto, Toronto. eSAC Project is funded by the Ottawa-based International Development Research Centre (IDRC) (www.idrc.ca).

 

Highly educated and motivated young professionals (YPs) will be selected and hired to support the successful implementation of the eSAC project. YPs will help catalyze the development of a Public eHealth and equity in health regional community of practice and will contribute to most other project activities.

Las Inequidades en salud son prevalentes en muchas partes de América Latina y el Caribe – afecta diferentes grupos sociales y son influenciadas por

características de raza, sexo, grupo étnico, entre otros. El proyecto eSAC busca mejorar la salud de los grupos desfavorecidos y contribuir al avance de la equidad en salud en América Latina y el Caribe (LAC), fomentando y promoviendo la innovación en eSalud Pública.

eSAC es un proyecto regional financiado por el Centro Internacional para el Desarrollo (CIID/IDRC) (www.idrc.ca) en Ottawa, Canadá y diseñado e implementado conjuntamente por la Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS/OMS) (www.paho.org) en Washington DC, y el Grupo de Investigación en Equidad en Salud e Innovación (PHI) (www.phi-group.org) de la Universidad de Toronto en Toronto.

Individuos altamente calificados y con iniciativa serán seleccionados para contribuir a la ejecución exitosa del proyecto eSAC. Los jóvenes profesionales catalizarán el desarrollo de una comunidad de práctica Regional en eSalud Pública y equidad en salud, además de apoyar otras actividades del proyecto.
